hi
My fuel pump came today ( injection r1)
could any body tell me if this is complete and ready to mount inside the fuel tank,
its just it dont seem right putting the wires in the petrol. I dont know ive never seen one before.

Looks exactly the same as mine. Good luck fitting it though, I gave up working out a reliable way of fitting it into a used fuel tank (ie so no welding) so ditched it and got an external pump

A lot of people get worried about electric wires inside a petrol tank (for pumps and senders ) but the facts of the matter are that inside the petrol tank the air is just TOO sturated with petrol vapor to actually ignite so it is infact safe . I was trying to use the the original in tank pump that came with my Noissan pulsar donor but ran into strife with getting the pump to seal to the mounting ring cut from the original tank. Now after re makeing the tank I have a external pump . My understanding is that early kawasaki injected bikes would have a suitable external pump.
