hi everyone ,i just fitted a new rectifer/regulater to my mk indy ,its the upgraded one with fins ect .all works fine now although it still gets quite hot ive made a ally bracket for it to sit on .has any one put a fan on theirs as well to help it stay cool ?

Yep, my standard one wasnt mounted on anything metallic but I had an old Athlon PC heatsink and fan on for 3 years and it never fried itself.

if you have acces to a Tig welder

proberly the best thing you can do is

with some points welding to an athlon/intel heat sink with fan

I would think that this may overheat it ?
Or kill its sensitive electronic components, TIG is electric isnt it?

has anyone got a good pic of there fan setup ,si i could do the same ,also isnt the fan out of a computer 240volt ?
how would i convert it to 12v

I thought that was!

It was only a £2 fan and heatsink, I had already set my location, with better planning you could fit a really big h/s and fan, only about £10 too.
There must be some irony in the fact that people want to water cool their pc's really

No, all the fans are 12V, ready for when people fit them in cars

The "Akasa AK-675 " £6 + delivery from Overclockers.co.uk (5th one down)

As ReMan says, all PC fans are 12v, the PC power supply converts the 240v AC into 12v DC (and other voltages) for the PC components to run on.

Here is a pic of mine. I used 1" U section ali and drilled it for extra holes.
