any one willing to post bhp figures for r1, zx9, blade ,so i can decide which engine to use.

the power output will be in the order you wrote them, all good, all well proven.

people bandy all sorts of figures about, with or without the air box, the standard exhaust. its all pretty irrelevant really. you will hear anything from 120ish on the blade to maybe 160ish on the r1, not a clue what dress these engines would be in or if it was RW BHP or engine BHP.

as jon says, its the comparison that counts really. bear in mind zx9 c gearbox is softer than later models. fewer bearings etc. i dont know much about the others.

i had my blade 919 put on a rolling road to have it set up with a dyno jet kit at tunning japanese i have the print ou and it reads like this

bhp at wheels====126.4
max torque at 85mph or 9440rpm
max power at 116mph or 11700rpm
max torque------71lbf-ft

test date was 10/11/04
car mnr vortx r/t

tel number 01252 328080
you can call to conferm the figures if you wish ask for paul(the manager)

there you go no silly claims just the true facts

the figures as Joel has quoted are engine BHP, bike magazines now tend to quote the Rear wheel HP when they talk about the power figures of bikes.

fireblades are getting harder to find, Zx9R's are cheaper than the other 2 mentioned and the R1 is light, reliable and has more power

I had my rry fireblade 2001 model 929cc,on a rolling road, honda quote 152bhp at the flywheel, for this model as standard,I have a power commander fitted and a scopion race can,and a itg foam filter,it recorded 124bhp at the wheels.

any chance you could translate that for those of us who can't read it

Most of the stock 893 and 919 blades are around the 105-115bhp RWHP, my first engine ran at TTS and got 112bhp and they said it was one of the best stock engines they'd seen with only a Dynojet. Don't forget they only kick out 128-135bhp at the crank.
ZX9s seem to be about 5-10bhp above this and R1s maybe 30bhp above the blade, into the 140's at the rear wheel.

My TTS read out is in the photo archive. Tops out at 119BHP at the wheels.
ZX9r With ST down pipes, Re-packable silencer and TTS filter.
