got my sump back from chris gamlin's uncle after he had chopped it for me...

very pleased and would recommend his services to anyone else - good price as well..

it was 50.00 and 7.50 for postage, very good job too - also modified the oil pick up pipe

He also does blade sump plug mods to gain around 15mm for £25 (not nearly as much work)

Looks like nice work - hasn't it made the sump smaller overall though? Don't you have to add a bit on the side (excuse me I'm new to this)?

When I get to this stage I think I'll give him a shout!!!

It does reduce the capacity a little yes, but if you look at the amount chopped off its probably less than 300ml so not a lot really considering the engine holds 4L or so. As long as you fill to the same level (ie reduce the amount you put in and don't overfill) then Ive not heard of any problems, this is exactly how Z-Cars etc used to mod the ZX9 sumps too.
