interesting.....

from what i gather, you're having it fwd, with a short chain drive to a rear diff mounted at the front?

any reason you went fwd rather than rwd? easier i guess?!

How can you get a chain diff in there? the R1 is incredibly tight and it is much shorter with the stacked gearbox than a cbr900

Good luck anyway

Does make them very nose heavy
You want as much weight as you can in the rear to counter

It doesn't make them nose heavy, as you lose about 70kgs from the front end

Thanks for the comments.

It was an absolute nightmare getting it all working but it drives fine. A very tight squeeze.

The chain runs straight down from the gb sprocket. The front of the chain runs in front of the gear selector shaft and the round the diff then back to the gb sprocket

Have you removed the water pump to get room?

Thats similar to what I'd planned for the Cinquecento, fortunately? I hated it to much to peruse it so sold it
Well done, be interesting to see the gubbins picture
Great project

no..water pump is still there and working. just managed to get everything in and working.. chain clears everything by about 15mm so im hoping there isnt too much "flailing" of the chain when booting it or things might foul each other slightly

also the sprocket has about 5mm clearance of the gear selector shaft but the more ive thought about it a 10mm shim infront of the gearbox sprocket will mena I can slide the diff the clear the thick park of the gear change chaft and then will have 15mm clearance

cheers Alan
