Fitted the reverse gear, bracket and starter motor. With a bit of grease it works a treat. The starter is Golf mk4 which goes counterclockwise.
Huge thanks to John, even though he is very ill, he still managed to make this for me.

He laser cut the gear and its in 2 parts so that it can be removed without removing the bearings.

I put a brace in, as when enagaged it prevents the bracket from moving.
