I Have a Westfield type dry sump Oil Pump on my Busa engine and it has no means of tensioning the belt. I have just been fitting a Ducati Monster Belt Tensioner and with a bit of adaptation, I think it will work very well. Has anyone else fitted a tensioner or made an adjustment to move the pump away from the engine to achieve the same thing. Any pics would be appreciated. When the engine is in the car, the pump is so difficult to reach that trying to remove it is almost impossible.
Here is a Pic of what i have been making. The lock bolt is not yet attached but i have run the engine and it tensions the belt well. The locking bolt for the tensioner will be extended from an existing crankcase cover bolt with a spacer in between.Image deleted by owner
Here is the finished article and it fitted so well, it was almost made for the job. the locking bolt lined up perfectly with an existing hole in the
starter clutch cover part of the crankcase.

Has anyone used this type of oil pump on their engine or are most people using the replacement for the water pump and therefore not having to use a drive belt?
