just been quoted £247 for my gixxer mk , a jump of over £130 from the 1.6 pinto its replaced from adrian flux. Seems rather steep to me. Looking for a better quote , any help?

I'm with Sureterm Direct. £130 ZZR1100

A lot of people have gone with 2gether? They have a link in the Insurance section.

I pay a similar amount with Adrain Flux for my R1 MNR, they where by far the cheapest when I was looking round.

Beware, a couple of brokers suggested that if I registered it as a 1000cc engine then it would be cheaper, i.e. car engine and not specify it was a bike engine

I'm also with Sureterm for the KC and 2Gether for the MX5. Customer service has been quite good for both companies and they're both very reasonably priced. Really not much between them to be honest for me.

Did have a few mistakes on the insurance proposal with 2Gether but was quickly and efficiently sorted.

Dont forget you will save £60 per year on road tax so swings and roundabouts - closes the gap at least and i'm sure you'll find cheaper insurance yet.

Dont do this, if the insurance company finds out they will not pay up in the case of a claim.

My point exactly, I was having a conversation with them as to why my quote was over double what everyone else was telling me they where paying. He went on to say that if I registered it just as a 1000cc engine then it would be almost 50% less.

I am 36 with over 10 years no claims (on road car) and no one could do it for less than £200, I do have an agreed value on the car and breakdown cover, so this may have something to do with it

Yeah the agreed value is probably the killer, by knocking off £500 of my value to get it under their threshold it saved me £50 on the premium.

if you expected it to be cheaper because of engine cc being smaller then that has changed now with insurance companies.. They got wise.. Now they look at engine power figures first.. You could have a small cc kicking out more power than a larger one which is why.. Bugger
