Paddle shift and sierra switchgear/column
j-k - 14/2/09 at 10:24 AM

Morning...

I have used the search facility and looked at loads of photos etc of how to make (or buy) a paddle shift system.

It would however seem that most of the home made jobs and the commercially available units are suitable for the sierra column without switchgear /cowling etc..

I would prefer to keep mine as it is because i dont want any unnecessary switches etc on the dash panel.

Car is an MK Indyblade....

many thanks

jon

I made mine from scratch.

They use the fixing screws for the shroud.

i have already made a mockup plate for under the steering column, very similar to the above picture.

Have you got anymore photos of how you attach the paddle to the plate and what you have done to attach the gear change mechanism?

many thanks

You just need 2 rod ends for the paddles.

Mine are M8 I think but they are going to get changed to M6 because the paddles are too close to the steering wheel.

In the image showing the cable connection, the rod end needs to be turned 90 degrees other wise it wont work properly.
