****PADDLESHIFT AND STEERING BOSS HELP****
matt.c - 8/2/09 at 04:43 PM

been trying to fit my paddles today to the indy but have found the paddles are too far away from my wheel. Are there any bosses that will make the wheel closer and also give me more clearence for the paddles to move? Have looked on the web for a boss but there are so many and dont know which is the right one for me. Im using the sierra column and a OMP "D" shape wheel.

thanks guys.

You may not be able to get an off the shelf boss to suit - it may need to be made to work around your paddles.
This is mine with a Mountney traditional wheel and boss plus with a smaller wheel and Mountney M boss. Both work with my paddles but the actual paddles are spaced towards the wheel (hard to see in the pictures).

Again, not the best of pictures (and not me with small hands and pink trousers) but this gives an idea of how much you would need to space the paddles towards the wheel on a Sierra column with a standard depth boss. I think most would recommend turning one or adapting your own on a lathe. Rescued attachment PADDLES.JPG

Hi how are the two paddle bits you put your fingers on fastend to the plate?
It looks like two bolts from your picture.
Can you not unbolt them and make a spacer to go between which would bring them closer to you.

Mine seams alot smaller.

Not sure of the make though could be sparco as that was what the wheel was before I changed it.

You should be able to get a shorter boss as the one you have is collapsable.

I cant remember what your steering wheel centre is like but you should be able to get a race style boss (probably weld on) which will bring the paddles a lot closer...

as said its because you have a collapsable boss, mine is much closer to the paddles as it isnt collapsable
