i had the lever out to adjust the bit that holds the cable end.
when fitting back in it dont want to go fully down.
will it fall in when it is used with the engine running going into gear or should it not have been taken out.

It appears to be in the correct position to me,you can't get it in the wrong position,the little cam on the end of the lever,fits around the nipple on the clutch release lever inside the casing,if can you feel the clutch resistance when you depress the clutch pedal its in ok.
Here's a picture of the clutch casing removed,so you can see the nipple you need the cam lever to wrap around,in order it can pull the nipple/shaft outwards to release the clutch.
yes the clutch has resistance like its ok but its about 4mm from where it was.
you can just about make it out looking at the spring.
Sounds like its ok then jambo,looking at your picture,you have replaced the standard clevis pin,with a nut and bolt,and you have also made a bracket
which has move the cable angle,this made have change the position slightly from its original,it may be this thats just lifting it a bit,there is a bit
of free play or lift in the arm if you pull up and down on it,so it can lift to that point and still operate ok.I am sure it will be fine.

Aye looks right to me too mate. I'm on my 5th one of them buggers too. There's a little resistance as you push it through the lower bearing
before that "nipple".
Give it a bit of a push and turn and if it's not quite there it'll soon engage. It's fairly robust but as I said it looks okay to me.
