Hi everyone, I have purchased a jc sports kit car and would like to change the chassis from the ladder frame chassis to a space frame chassis,
Question.. What make and model chassis would be best to buy, so I can use as many parts as possible from the original jcsports kit car?.
This little project will mainly be used for trackdays

Wouldn't bother, you'll need to do IVA etc and get registered again.

I agree with Simon, it's going to be a huge amount of work when you consider IVA etc. and you'd be much better off selling it as a road going, registered car and putting the extra money into buying the kind of car you want.

If you have to do this, then there isn't a huge amount that is going to be immediately useable without modification. The rear axle should be fine to use, but will almost certainly need different brackets welded on. The front suspension will depend on what version your Locust uses. If it's the Mk3 Cortina front suspension then the uprights/brakes etc. can be used with the standard Locost wishbones. If you have the Triumph front suspension you'll likely need custom wishbones. None of the springs and dampers will be useable, since pretty much all the space framed 7 style cars use coil over shocks.

Engine and gearbox, and maybe propshaft will be ok, with appropriate engine mounts for a Locost chassis (or other 7 inspired car), along with instruments and seats.

I suspect very little of the bodywork will be useable, the front cycle wings should be fine as they go with the uprights, and possibly the rear arches could be reused.
