front wishbones BOOK vs KIT

Can anybody give me de thickness of the front wishbones where the ball-joint and shock-absorber is mounted?

The book says 10 mm plate, the locost is using 3 mm. SO which one isn't good designed???

I used 5mm as well, read a few threads advising against 3mm

IMHO Both badly designed as the shock should point at the ball joint, not half way along the bone.

The book design just places lots of load on the wishbone bushes and tubes.

Better to move the shock end close to the ball joint and use a 3mm plate.

We used 5 mm plate, which is immensely strong. Photo attached.... Rescued attachment lower bone.jpg
