My PINK chassis

Its NOT PINK !!!!!!. I've had some synthetic enamal made up in a colour called Regalia. You can brush paint it and it self flattens to leave no brush marks. Its as hard as nails once cured. Used it to repaint my Landrover years ago. Been across sahara and back.......still looks freshly applied. £10 quid a tin....enough to do two chassis' (3 coats) each.

Better than Hammerite and any colour you like ! Rescued attachment Picture 163.jpg

Pink ? Is it the new black ?

I was going for a pink chassis with silver body plus of course the chrome front end and roll hoops, cam cover etc.
What do we think chaps ???? Cool or just sub zero ? Rescued attachment DSCF0058.JPG

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

That brake pipe that run's down the chassis rail near the offside front wishbone will foul on the altenator if you are using a pinto.

If your alternator fouled the brake line in that position then your alternator would hit the chassis when you drive the car. unless you are using solid mounts.

re brake line down chassis

Viper,

are you saying the pipe can be left there ? I was going to use a smaller alternator/ home made bracket to give a bit of room anyway. I would be a little annoyed if I move it and then find that I had plenty of clearance once the engines in !!

If your using a Pinto you will need to hack an inch off that plate with the welded number on the underside (apparently)

I haven't tried the fit yet myself - this was advice from the "build manual" on the yahoo Tiger group

Cheers Viper, What alternator did you use ?. It appears to give plenty of space.

There are 'decent' people left!
The guy who sold me the Alternator has replaced it free of charge
(I did offer to pay half but he refused)

Restores a little faith in humanity
