Sierra diff mounts

Whats the crack with the rear diff mount? It is not mentioned in the book... I am assuming that only the two long bolts are required to holt it in place... If so can i grind off the rear thread holes

i used the 2 long bolts and also welded on some brackets to support the front end just inside the transmission tunnel
didn't use the rear mount Rescued attachment S2400047.JPG

I made a rear diff steady for mine.

antonyg, aren't the nuts for the seat belts welded on the wrong side?

are there not 3 mounts?

I used the end mount as well.

I thik someone on here cut the end mount off, to find it was hollow and they had a big hole in the back plate (ned?)

whats wrong with leaving it as it is anyway?

I'll leave it as is... Not sure as to whether I'll use the rear mount as a steady though

If you are hard mounting the diff then by using the rear mount you can use the diff case to add rigidity to the chassis.

I certainly would put a rear mount on . Mine has become loose before

Northy - 8/5/05 at 05:36 PM

Really?

i only used the two long bolts and didn't bother with the rear mounting point. no problems so far.(famous last words!)
