Welds
Anybody else had any issues with MK supplied parts (supplied, but not necessarily fabricated by them). Had a weld go on my exhaust can, which led to
it parting company with the car at 80mph (on a track), and more recently the weld at the bottom of the gearstick failed resulting in the thing coming
off in my hand.
Only interested if people have had similar experiences - or if there is there are any other "issues" that are "systematic"
that should be looked out for. If the thread degrades into a slanging match I'll delete it - thanks.
Cheers
Martin

We had a weld snap on the mounting bracket of our first exhaust can. The exhaust however wasn't manufactured by MK, so hardly their fault.

Same thing happened to me and someone else. Mine went on the way to the SVA retest!!!!!! Just had time to nip into a mates MOT garage to weld it back
on!

Think toady1 has had a couple of gearstick welds go.
Frankly I'm not surprised bits have dropped off the car - I've seen how I drive it!
All I wanted to know is if there are common fab problems that are known so I can head them off at the pass. The purpose of this thread is not about
cribbing, it's about preventative maintenance based on the experiences of others.
