Looking for an old flame

It's been a while (as the song goes)
I'm getting all misty eyed thinking about the Indy I tried and failed to build about 5 years ago.
It was kind of unique, An indy with the sloping sides and a deDion rear end. (Martin built it that way, as I had already bought the dedion rear end for my own chassis) When I sold it the car was fitted with a SRI130 Vauxhall engine, Manta box and XR4x4 rear diff. painted in grey with yellow cone and guards.
During my divorce the car had to go and only now have I the space to build another. Just wondered what happened to her. By the way, hi to everyone who remembers me, including Jon Ison,Chris G and Metal hippy, hope you are all well and dandy.
Dave Mac

Heyup..................

You can find most things on here so hopefully may find your old flame.........

Chris G is well and truly still around, he's been busy since you last saw him will let others fill you in, Metal Hippy shows his head from time too time, he's still sat on a box o bits.

I sold the Isonblade some years back, it went through two sets of hands, an insurance company and now its back here, so you just never know, you may just find the "old flame"

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Guys,
It's great to hear you are still out there doing the Locost thing.
Jon, I'm glad you got re-united with the Isonblade, I kind of hoped the same might happen to me, If it's not running about, then it must still be in pieces, ergo, I might have a chance to finish what I started. Either way I'm still in their looking for that nearly but never will be finished MK and now that I ride an R1, there can be only one engine for it.
Chris, did I read somewhere that you are now of literary standing?
It would be great to catch up on old times. Do you lot still meet up?
all the best
Dave.

Hello Dave.

Are you going to build a chassis this time or buy one again?

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Hi Pete,
It's been a long time!
I'm keeping an open mind at the moment, I would probably favour something very near completion due to time commitments and a garage full of bikes. I working out the viabilities, i certainly don't want to not finish another build!!
I ran a GTM upto last year when I carelessly lost the rear on a roundabout and smashed the engine mountings. Still the insurance went into the house deposit!
It's good to see the same people still involved with locosts. how's yours these days?

I've been painting some bits and refitting them and getting ready to tax it again, just pottering about really. I've been riding my old Revere again and looking at something newer like a Bandit 650 or Honda Hornet, my back won't stand for a race rep

why dont you buy a finished car engined locost and just modify it to bike power? Then you dont have to worry about SVA, its not a massive job but you still have loads of fun and end up with a stupidly fast car

I often doubt my ability to stick with anything for long, i change my mind too often and get bored.

lost owner?

On the off chance - Whilst everyones getting reunited and in a similar theme..

Anyone recognise mine? (asked before but worth another try) - she's also an early build, a CBR1000 and as you've said with de-dion rear & straight sides.

I bought it/her (depending on when shes behaving) from a retired banker in Wakefield, and I think I'm her 3rd Owner

I'm not ruling out too many options, I certainly won't be making my own chassis again, tried that with version 1 and although it turned out ok, it was a real b&ll ache. I worked out that I was actually better doing the same amount of time at work and using the overtime to pay someone who knew what they were doing.
Version 2 was a better car altogether, just a shame that I had nowhere to keep the car, although the divorce was a spiffingly good idea
