MK pinto pickup pipe problem
I got my engine up and running at the weekend but there was a loud banging noise coming from inside the sump. I took it off to have a look and found
that the crank is hitting the pickup pipe (which I got from MK with my modified sump), and has so far taken a fair chunk out of the pipe in 2
places.
Has anyone else had this problem with their pipe or am I alone?
Cheers
Pete

Here's the photo of the pipe, you can see the 2 grooves quite clearly

well, its either the pipe too close to the crank, or the crank too close to the pipe. did you use all three bolts? the two by the oil pump and the
bracket further down? if these are all in place, then maybe the crank is loose! but i dont know sh1t about engines so who knows...

Yeah I used all 3 bolts and I'm pretty sure the crank isn't loose! The engine ran fine in the sierra, I think the problem is the mounting
bracket has been modified and must move the pipe too close to the crank, I may be able to pack it out or failing that I'll just have to hammer
it about a bit to make it fit better!

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
