my spring work
now that the car is running well, i need a fe bits and bobs to finnish it off,
for starters i have the firblade cabs, i currently dont have a filter, can someone point me in the right direction to get something suitable.
then its just a few little bits i have already that just need putting on and sorting the dash out.
but with regards to the performance, where can i go next,
its a 2.0 pinto, bored to 2.1 with oversize pistons, kent fast road cam, h&h dizzy and coil, fireblade carbs, mk 4-1 exhaust. so im looking for
something to get the car ready for the summer, whats the best way to go, weight loss? rolling road?
away from cars, now cycling and building TT bikes

you can get the pipercross filter and backing plate you need from rallydesign although the site appears to be down?
I would suggest rolling road as the most straightforward and instant way to get better driveability from bike carbs. With the engine if you want to
take it to bits again ( ) a properly flowed head will see some more power too.

rolling road (if its not already been done) and weight reduction (without spending anything if possible) should give you some results
the biggest power gains from a pinto are normally in the head...
but if you what to keep the budget down - find/get a spare head, a cheap porting kit (ebay?), a pinto tunning book (e.g. vizard or hammill) and lots
of elbow grease
I'm sure someone else will be along in a minute to tell you about fancy modern 16v's and BEC's

you can easy spend alot more than I did - burtons do an alloy block+head for ~£7k then there's a long stroke crank for ~£1.5k, then you can dry
sump it and add EFI (and thats without forced induction)
