Better to use a solid material, soch as plastic strip or offcuts of the MK inner trim panels. You only need small pieces at each rivet so they can pull up tight without distorting the panel

What trim is used on the scuttle/bonnet/nosecone top of side panels?

Nothing under the scuttle, thin adhesive foam under the nose and bonnet where they sit on top of the side panels
Also how have people fitted there dashes to the scuttle I have a new style mk dash any trim or just riveted?

Not sure what the new dash looks like, so cant comment on the trim, but would be inclined to make it detachable with screws tarther than rivets?
