Fitting Cobra Roadster Seats in an Indy! Help!

I've been struggling all week now to work out how to fit my new Cobra Roadster seats into my Indy.

I have the original MK runners , making the seats fit to these is easy enough using some steel flat bar as an 'adapter'. Trouble is I cannot bolt the runners to the chassis as the seat wont slide far enough back to get to the front runner bolts without the back of the seat hitting the rear panel.

I thought of just bolting the steel adapter bar to the chassis but again I wont be able to get at the bolts as they are effectively under the seat!

I guess the issue is the Roadsters are a much 'longer' seat than the MK GRP seat so the bolts miss the chassis rails by a good 4 inches.
Lots of other people must have Cobra Roadster seats in their Indys! Help Please!

cant you weld a bolt to the front of the runner so no need to get to the bolt ??. are you sure that you have placed the seat far enough forward sound to me like you may not have the runner far enough forward. Brother in law has cobras in his Indy his problem is that you can only just get to the back bolt when the seat is forward

Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

Bolt the runner to the seat.
Then long bolts through the runner, off the car with nuts to hold,, then fit to the car with more nuts under the floor

Sorry ReMan, you might have to explain that one again. I've bolted the seat to the runner and put the long bolts in the runner to pass through the chassis rail. But I cannot get to the bolts again to stop them turning once the seat is dropped into the car.

Unless like austin man said I get the bolts welded to the runner.

Yes as above, but fit a nut to the long bolts before fitting the whole lot to the car.
Meaning that the seats sit on the nuts, so add 5mm height.
I fitted custom made spreader nuts ie a square plate tapped in the middle, only about 4mm thick, but any thickness will do as long as it locks up the bolt
