Zetec ZX6R Airbox Pics

A couple of pics of my revised carb setup on the 2.0 Blacktop. It's not pretty but seems to work well, and still fits under the bonnet.

0.8mm ish steel - I think it used to be an electric convection heater!

In true locost style I pulled it out of the skip at the local dump!

Looks great. very similar to the one i had before i fitted turbo, i found out that a cold air feed made a noticeable difference, Kev.

Looks similar to the one I made out of a washing machine but on the RR session they found it to not have enough capacity and strangled the engine at top revs

ATM mine is wide open an roars like a tiger

That was a concern I had. I haven't had it on an RR, but driving on road it doesn't seem to have any problems with top end power.

I'll try it with the airbox off and see if there is any difference.

I've still got a Pipercross sausage filter to go back to if necessary.

airbox

Hi all ive been making one as well got the bare bones right now and hoping to get it welded up this week,
Then having a removable lid to gain access to the fixings, and a direct cold air feed from down in the front of the nosecone.
How much BHP do you gain if any from this , Is there a noticable difference.
Bearing in mind just had it on the rolling road with out airbox and was getting 209 BHP

PERSEVERANCE is the word of the week. Stick with it the results are SWEET.
