Help with progress

Having completed the foorpan last night on my Indy I am now onto the steering. MK provided me with the column, shaft thingy and rack. I think I need some new gaiters, track rod ends? and a new bearing?

Where can I get these items and any tips would be good.

Any good Motor Factors will keep this sort of thing.

Sorry to hijack you topic a little.
Did you fit MK owns floor, and if so did it fit squarely on your chassis?
I trial fitted mine last night and it was 5mm too big in every direction! Not sure if this makes a difference once the body work is fitted but still not great.

Yep, my MK floor was too big. Before riveting I cut off the excess with my jigsaw.

Also, when drilling into the chassis make sure your holes dont foul the welds.

Also, MK only supplied 50 rivets . I needed over 100 so make sure you have enough before applying the sealant

You should get the bits you asked about from the motor factors. For other stuff through the build I used car builder solutions who usually can get items to you the next day. Have a look at their brochure on the interweb

Tifosi are ideal for rivets and rivnuts, the more you buy the cheaper they get,

Yep I had about 40 of the rivets but hundreds of the little ones. Now I have about 500 of the big uns in case anyone needs some. I just bought loads of wide 16mmx4.8mm rivets.

I did mine using rivets at 60mm intervals and use sikaflex. I don't expect the floor pan to vibrate with age

I got the mid bearing for the setting column (rubber grommet, plastic sleve and bush) for 3.50 + post off ebay.

I found the floor pan overhangs about 3mm or so. I'll trim after.
