I find my blackbird engine bullet proof. It only gets slated because it needs a dry sump and loads of people think they can get away without one. Im putting 75hp of nitrous through mine on a completely slock motor. That engine has done 2 seasons of drag racing.

On that run it was an 11.806 but my dial in was 11.95 therefore i broke out and lost the race even though i was first over the line. I managed a 11.7 later in the day.

What's a dial in? Bloody fast time whatever it is, I don't know how much longer I can last without having to build another!

In bracket racing like the Pro ET championship that I run in. Before each race you state a dial in time which is the time you are trying to get. The lights for each racer are staged to theoretically get both cars to the finish line at the same time. (ie a car that can run 12s will start 1second later than a car with a 13sec dial in). To win you must get accross the finish line first without going faster than your dial in time. If you go faster than your dial in the win is handed to your opponent.

Aha I see, quite a cool idea but i also like to see one car thrash the pants off another!

It makes it much better for the spectators at York,

There aren't any viewing areas near the finish line so you get very little idea of by how much a car wins by, other than how well they get off the line.

This way you can try and watch them play catch up all the way down the strip (from the start) and then wait for the light from the winning lane. V.nailbiting stuff!
