Lighter than expected

I was quite surprised to see at the SVA the weight of our indy came in at 525kg - considering its a pinto I was expecting closer to 600kg. Good news for attaining the magic 200bhp/tonne

That seems a good weight for a Pinto Indy - mine was bang on 600kg with a full (MK) tank of fuel. Weighed on a weighbridge (not SVA axle weights).

Have you used lightweight uprights, brakes, wheels etc?

Got any pics?

Yeah I thought it was a good weight - nothing lightweight used really. Its got the FG seat shells and not much in the way of a boot box (cover is just vinyl).

Perhaps their equipment is out?

Have you just added the two axle weights together? if so, this is not the actual weight of your car - it will actually weigh a bt more than that....

Ok so yeah the car drops into the rollers by a couple of inches but that infact makes it a worse case (higher load on that axle). And you really are splitting hairs at that.....

mine weighed in at just over 700  with a zetec and that was done on a weighbridge as it would'nt drop in the rollers and he said that the roller weight thingy was'nt that accurate on such a light weight car.He did some sort of calculation to get this figure.
