how do I lower my car

could someone please tell me how I lower my car its got the protech adjustables

Ive only ever had shocks and springs on my modded cars before not adjustable ones

and Ive just fitted the rear arches but there is about a good three inch gap above the wheel

even though the suspension still feels very stiff

unsrew the seats lower down probably got an allen key securing them.

1" will lower seat will roughly lower about 1.5"-2"

no thats the damping srew clockwise will make it harder anti make it softer its

yea sorry i get what your saying the spring is sitting onit

You will need a 'C' spanner to adjust the ring.

Once you have the correct(ish) ride height you need somebody with some scales to set the corner weights up for you; this helps make the car feel balanced when turning from one direction to the other. Don't underestimate its importance or its contribution to grip! Make sure the weights are set with a driver-representative ballast (or the driver!) in the driving seat.

so do I just screw the seat by hand up or down and thats it to lower it

yea thats it the lower the seat the lower the car will be it wont affect the stiffness,
you may need a c spanner as suggested if you havnt got one use something to knock it round big flat head srewdriver and hammer, but you may damage it better off with c spanner.

just in case you were gona where to get a c spanner

ok cheers is a c spanner available from normal car places like halfords and road runner etc ill find out tomorrow

will it be a specific size

Don't forget you need some space to allow for suspension movement. Your rear arches are fixed to the bodywork, unlike your fronts.

on the shocks on an indy, if they're owt like mine, there'll be very little movement down, as in below 5" at the rear.

to achieve this, you'll need shorter shocks and shorter springs, though i can't think why you'd really want to do that. the rear bottoms out enough as it is!

i find the easiest way to do it is to jack the car up, so the suspension drops into full droop, then wind them at that. obviously you can't do that if you're corner weighting, but works ok for basic ride height set up.
