more power for mk zx9?????????
Hi,
I am looking to get more power out of my ZX9 in my MK.
It is already dynojetted so what else can i so?
The other thing i thaught was to buy a zx12 engine and replace it with the zx9 engine thats already in. Does anyone no if this can be a straight
engine swap with no messing about etc?

ZX12 has definitly has different mounts, I'd suspect the port sizes are different as well, then there's the wiring!
Sorry!

i think you will give your self an awful lot of work fitting the zx12
are you not better loosing some weight from the car (if possible)
maybe a change in suspension set up too
and then last of all a change in driving technique
these will make more difference than adding a little more power
altho i could be wrong

ZX9's are quite pokey for an old motor, you just have to shed weight to keep up with the bigger boys

what is the best ways of shedding weight on the car then? I have big car battery, should i change that for a small bike one? And also my wheels are
16" o.z superlaggeras, should i swap those for some 15" wolfrace prolite (not as good a brand as team dynamics but they are lighter
wheel......they weigh 4.99kg each).
I cant see where else the weight can be saved?????

Oh yeah, i also have the westfield lightweight seats, but they have been padded and leather trimmed, this probly adds a little bit of
weight.............

Here we go then.....
Carbon Fibre panels........ £2000
Thin wall rollbar................£1500
Carbon Fibre seats...........£1000
Kate Moss Tinrib diet.........£priceless!
If you want to go quick... invest in track and instructor time. Add this to setting up the car and IMHO you will get somewhere close to reaching the
limits of the ZX9.
I'm not demeaning your post as it is a common assumption that quicker equates to more power.... and it does obviously but sorting the driving
technique out add to that the balance of the car and it will give you more in terms of lap time then raw power alone in terms of bang for your
buck!
