Indy or Indy-R
Gremlin - 5/6/08 at 10:51 AM

Just spoke to MK and they have thrown a new spanner in the works!

Just come back to kit cars after about 4 years out and the Indy-R is new to me...

Whats the difference and is it worth extra money and effort to go with the R for a BEC?

Was all set to go with the Indy and now a bit confused.

The only fault I could find with it is that you don't get to see the front coilovers which is something I like on 7's, as they'r etucked away in the nose cone. Cracking car other than that I reckon.

from what people have said i wouldn't even consider the early chassis
best bet is to wait until later
im sure someone who has tried both will tell you

So the Indy-R is the way to go? I must admit I would miss being able to see the shocks it is a part of what the 7 is about...

Suppose if its that much better its well worth a look.

They re-designed the suspension on the Indy-R, to remove some of the faults the original Indy had, so going the Indy-R is the way to go.

I think concealed springs looks cooler, much more single seater/F1.
Or you could make a persex/polycarb cover so you can still see the coilovers!

Yes it is worth it...

i've got inboard springs so I guess I don;t know what I am missing since it never occured to me that spring watching could be so fascinating.

its worth it if you ve got the extra £600 my budget didnt stretch that far and im not that great a driver to notice the difference on the road

if mine wasn't so close to sva id buy the new chassis and transfer all the parts
in fact when i spoke to mk this week i was still wondering whether i should just change anyway

Does anyone have any pictures of the front end of the new and old indys for me to compare?

worX - 5/6/08 at 01:26 PM

New front end.

On the Move.

And if you click on the banner link below and then click on "Spec R" you will find a series of photos for another Indy SpecR
