Flexi Length?
Colnago_Man - 12/1/08 at 04:48 PM

Hello all, just fitted the front flexible brake pipe and they seem a little on the short-side. When on full lock they dont quite reach the chassis by about 2 inches (the angle of this picture is a bit deceptive)
I was planning to fit a small L-shaped bracket on the chassis to join the copper pipe to the flexi.
Should I be joining them via the bodywork? If so does the body work curve that far out?

i haven't got an indi but .... i think your top wishbone may be on upside down.

Its is a Indy... must update my details..

Good point about the caliper being upside down, I will try that.

Hi Mark

Those look a lot like my Indy bones, and I'd agree that if they are Indy bones, then they are on upside down. The calipers are also on upside down (bleed nipples are at the bottom).

On the Indy the bodywork sticks out about 3" and I have seen cars with the brakes fixed through the bodywork. However on my car they were just long enough to get an L shaped bracket onto the vertical chassis member.

As above,

Calipers wong sides and bones upside down.

And your hands are way to clean.

Oh, your garage floor is also too clean

(sorry, i couldn't resist)

and without going into it too deep, your offset mushroom adapter wants the hole at the front.

it's what MK reccommend and it works on mine and many other cars.

Sorry to odd my share but don't forget the top wishbones are left and right handed, I think it's the long leg to the front

Thanks for the advice everyone, I swapped the calipers over and turned they upside down and now the flexi does now reach!!!!

Tommorows job is to flip the top bones around, rembering what Tony said about making sure the long arm is at the front.

Sorry about the clean hands and floor, I spend so long staring at the car wondering what was wrong I cleaned everying to make me feel like I'd actually done something today...
