Started fitting the handbrake cables yesterday and was told by a friend that i have to grind some of the diff away to get some clearence for the
cables to run. See pic..

Is there another way to do it before i start grinding?

just noticed your cables seem to run under the 50x25mm rhs member.
mine run through it in tubes, so i suppose you might have to remove even more material then i did.

Mine's got the holes through the crossmember too for the cables to pass through.
Yes mine has holes below but the cables are tight to the diff.
Looks like i will have to take the diff out again and start grinding!!
Mine go through the holes fine, then go over the diff. Using a couple of P clips to guide them. I bend the P Clips so they have a 45 degree twist in them. This allows the cables to have a guide with not too much stress. They then guide down the the front of the wheels via another P clip on the edges of the frame. Seems to work OK. The cable operates fine with a nice 5 clicks to full on.
