I have a set of MK cycle wing brackets and im not sure on the the way they fit to the upright.
can anyone post a piccy of their MK ones fitted?
Thanks
The lower bracket goes between the upright and ball joint nut, the upper braket goes to the rear of the upright and is held by the pinch bolt.
when fitted to mine the upper bracket wont lie behind the upright, it loks like its supposed to go into the gap that 'pinches' up when you do the bolt up - not good!
I had that problem, but after doing a bit of research on Hellfire's site, it offered up nicely without hassle.
Don't know how it suddenly fitted, but the only reasonable explanation I can think of is magic.

I think a bit of brute force and ignorance was used

Description
You will need to get out the big hammer and vice to persuade them to fit
i tried in vain to put mine in the pinch hole - i grinded it down so it would slip in but it didnt sit right, i eventually put the upright piece either to the front or the rear of that hole. cant remeber exactly now. i can have a look 2moro morning and let you know!
thanks for you phots and advice,
I will try re fitting them tonight and let you know but i reckon its going to be a no go for making it fit like the photo above.
The upright bit of flat bar with the hole in it is bang on in the middle of the brace between the wing support tubes which says to me it aint going to
want to go either front of back of the wishbone.
seems it was worth the 3.5 week wait for them after all!
It didn't just fit straight on , I had to twist the bottom lug in the vice to bring the top lug to the correct point, then bash the top lug upright again, then wack top lug straight down to line up hole in upright, (was more Robin Hood than MK) hope this is clear? if not I can draw you a diagram.
Mine took a bit of persuading [i.e bending]to fit - it definately should be at the back of the upright and not in the split bit, as this might stop it
nipping up onto the mushroom insert properly
Stu
40 inches, i will just bend it to fit then if thats how its supposed to be done
Stu,
That was my concern too with the mushroom.
I decided to buy some as opposed to make them to save time and so thay would fit straight away, looks like i never benefitted on either front.
