Rear disc brake drive shaft problem
RobH - 13/6/07 at 10:17 PM

My build is coming on well after 3 weeks of work by me and my good old Dad.

I have had a problem with the rear driveshafts outer splined hud fouling and jamming on the hud carrier on the large diameter through the centre.

The solution was to file out the step in the bore to meet the welded on fange with the tapped holes.

This was not difficult but is worth checking out before painting the shafts and associated parts. Rescued attachment Chassis.JPG

Yes, I had that too, but machined the ABS teeth off.

I have locknuts on my top balljoints...

... but on reflection I can't see why

There's no way the balljoint can ever come loose (it's locked in place by the wishbone and upright) so why do we fit them????

It stops the threads from fretting.
