Just out of interest does anyone know who MK use for their kit supplied BEC props?
I need one for my GTS but i need to have the centre bearing a certain distance from the enigne as the mounts are already on the car.
Just wondering if MK would be able to get one made to my specifications?
Do they not make them up in house?
I took my donor prop down to them and they did it while u wait style.
Split the UJ, cut the front end off, welded a new slider and front UJ on. Re-attach the rear section. Sorted.

for peace of mind you might want it balancing. There are places up and down the country that can make to order. I went to burgess prop clinic in
bradford, and gave him lengths and dimensions for the bearing.
How accurate do you need the bearing positioning to be? Might be tricky getting it perfectly right. Two sliders maybe?
dunning and fairbank in leeds will make one to your specs, really helpful too.

It only needs to be +/- 25mm for centre bearing placement.
MK have not (touch wood) had any issues with their bike props to date so they must be well enough made????
Surely the propshaft is available from GTS. The distance between the centre bearing mounting plate and the diff will be a fixed length, so all you
really need is the front section of the propshaft shortening and a slider incorporated. If GTS don't supply these for whatever reason, like Ray
suggested, try Dunning & Fairbank in Leeds.

Ther is a relly good place in coventry, will make up a three piece prop, with centre bearing and sliding joint at the back to any requirements.
Can't quite remembere how much they are but know they where the cheapest of all the ones i looked at. I used them for my cec, and it is a good
piece of kit, all balanced and the like. Very helpful too.
can't remember the company name but the phone no is. 024760683239.
Cheers Chris

Calvin,
Darren told me he does NOT suply a BEC prop shaft hence my question about the MK one.
I have spoken to a few manufacturers and got a couple of prices but they all seem to go a bit quiet when i say im building a kit car with a bike
engine and the feeling i get is that once they get wind of my requirements that it is a propper 'one off' for them.
Their reaction is not exactly filling me with confidence in terms of being confident im going to get something thats going to fit and do the job first
time round, another reason for looking to maybe go down the MK route.
dont worry at all col, im sure all the big prop places will have made loads for kitcars and many of them for becs. Really isnt a problem, just stick to a known name.
I got mine from Bailey Morris, nice piece of kit, and very helpfull.
Rich.
