Kev I mounted mine on the the first upper part. Best thing to do is to sit in the car and hold the mirror in place and make sure you can see over the rear arch and have a clear view about 15-20 feet behind you.

i believe mookaloid had r1 mirrors before he got his screen, and may still have them, i'm not sure?
