The link pipe looks wrong.

Are you sure it's the right one ?

kev R1 - 29/1/06 at 07:30 PM

not too sure just the one that came with it.

fesycresy - 29/1/06 at 07:34 PM

Did you buy it from MK ?

mandbsheldon - 29/1/06 at 07:43 PM

Kev, hope you don't mind if I point out, that battery dosn't seem to fit right either

My pipe was exactly the same, buy Phil at MK made it fit some how. And as you can see in the picture, looks fine now

Can you turn the link pipe around Kev? Also, the 4:2:1 piece looks slightly twisted. It might be worth slackening the headers off and see if you can twist the 4:2:1 to square it up. Then mess about with the link pipe and silencer.

I had exactly the same problem. I saw Phil (From MK) at the Exeter kit car show and he said loosen off all the primary pipes and rotate them (primary pipes) .I tried this when I got home and it did improve the alignment a bit.
Then I took the link pipe to work and cut and shut it.
Although your link pipe does look different to mine.
Here’s a picture

my brother and me are trying to fit his exhaust as well,,the 4-2-1 collector seems wrong

Its the link pipe thats to short and hasnt got the bend quite tight enough. On Macspeedys car this was the same problem solved by sticking two bits scaffolding up each end and getting round when heated. Easy does it or you will flatten it. Ive got exactly the same prob to fix shortly.

zxrlocost - 30/1/06 at 05:32 PM

I bought mine from martin at MK Engineering

good old fashioned Business minded

tell him what you want he tells you when it will be ready for I went and fetched it and it was ready on the side in his workshop! cant say that about all the others

hand over the cash no pissing around fitted first time!

Winston Todge - 30/1/06 at 06:09 PM

Just wondering if you tried turning the link pipe around the other way, so that from manifold to can you have the longer link pipe section followed by the shorter?

Yours seems to be fitted shorter then longer?

Just a thought...
