might be a bit of a stupid question but has anyone got some sort of template for an indy r1 for the cutout on the side panel for the manifold?
thanks leigh
Kev,
I've become a Builder
Just call me Bob from now on
i'm still a junior you old codger
So that will be Bob the Codg'
yeah that sounds pretty good, you'll have to get a sticker made up for the side of your car?
Kev,
If you fancy a trip over you can make a template off mine. Oh, now that I'm a 'builder'
Or may be the back so you can read it
you could take one then e-mail it to me old wise one? but o know how you struggle with uploading pictures/?lol
True,
But, if you like, send me your address and I'll post it.
(Edited by the Builder)
top man, i'll u2u you. just don't want to mess it up, and i'm too lazy to do it myself? cheers
Kev,
I just wonder if all bends on the individual pipes are the same. I guess there not, so only use it as a guide, or make it twice as big
that your disclaimer leigh?
i'll see you in court? lol
Yep, now which side do you want it, right or left?
lol i'm off out to the garage now, back on later
Kev, easiest way to do it, is to fit your headers and then measure the vertical distance from the top of your chassis rail to both the topside and
underside of each header pipe. Then measure the front and rear edges from a datum point on your chassis rail. Plot these onto a piece of cardboard and
create a symmetrical shape to clear the pipes. Cut the shape out and transfer the template onto your side panel (Having picked up the datum point from
your chassis and transferred it to your side panel). Mark it and then cut it out but remember - measure twice, cut once.
I did this for desyboy - may be of some use as mine is an R1 with MK exhaust.
