ok i have a MK and the holes in the seats where the harness's go through are much higher than the achor bolts in the car, i take it this is a sva no no. . .i've had a look through the photo history of other builds on here but with no help. . . .how have you lot sorted yours ? i have a pic on my phone but dont have my dongle at home so i cant post a pics, unless i send it via phone and someone puts it up for me

It may be Ok with the harness straps going through the seats, but then the strength of the seat is likely to be more of an issue, i.e. does the harness cause the seat to bend because of downward pressure.

The easiest solution is not to use the holes, but put the harness round the sides of the seat.

EDIT: that's what I did, as the ST harness mounts are very low

would me sva be ok with me doing this even though i have holes in my seats ?

#humbug, i like how you have fitted your rear lights, was mr sva ok with them as there so close to each other ?, didnt they need to be on the rear arch ?

There has been lots of controversial threads regarding this and basically until you take it for the SVA you'll never know. The upper holes look quite high and I doubt it would be ok - some have even mounted the brackets to a central roll-bar member. Someone more educated than I will explain maybe...

Check the SVA manual for the exact measurements, but mine comply heightwise, and they are more than the minimum separation, and they are within 400mm for the outside edges of the body (= rear wheel arches). I have an Escort axle and narrow arches, so I was OK. The manual doesn't say where the lights have to be, only distances.

The SVA guy made no comment, though I had been slightly worried about the angle.
