What did you sit your car on when building it?

I am picking up the car kit next weekend and am wondering what other people used to sit the car on when building it. I was thinking something on wheels would be best so it can be wheeled out the garage if necessary?

Does anyone have any photos? What height would be best for the car to sit at when working on it? I was thinking something about waist height would be better for my back (it has been playing up lately)

I built my MNR on 4 axles stands extended to full height.
Worked ok for me.

4 axle stands did me for the entire build of my Indy. Useful afterwards too for getting it off it's tyres during the winter months.

mine sat on some 2x2" blocks of steel til it was on its wheels.
loads of people seem to use all sorts of stands, but surely thats a problem when you need to get it on the floor?

I used two 20 quid work mates from B&Q (metal ones not plastic).

I then made my build table, reinforced it with steel underneath and clamped the work mates to the steel.

Remember - what ever you make it on, you've got to be able to get it off. Luckily for me I had an engine crane.

I picked up a second hand pair of westfield build stands. was good for paneling but once the engine went in I've had it on axel stands.

Ours was built on stacked milk crates. As the weight increased, the height was reduced by removing a crate. The crates were given back to the milkman once the car was on the ground.

Old wardrobe ! As it got heavier changed to a pair of tractor axle stands at the back and a frame from the scrap bin at work.
About two foot seems about right.

I have a eletric pallettruck (don't now if it's the right name on it)

Works well in the garage and on trackdays.
