The next job was to fit the engine and gearbox with a bit of jiggery pokery it went in
engine mounts made by martin of mk engineering
Next up came the wiring with 2 weeks on and off studying the diagrams hey presto it runs
this is the video proof

The original throttle qaudrant was too big so looked around for a smaller one and i had a spare set of bike carbs this is the end result
Ecu and wiring located in the ns under the scuttle panel
Then onto the cooling system i had a alloy rad made by martin at mk engineering
Then i found the biggest intecooler that would fit and after a bit of cutting and welding done by martin of mk engineering this is what i now have
The next two jobs are where it is today and the first one is the battery re-location in between the tunnel this is something i wanted to do for a
couple of years now but never got round to it till now
just need to get a new scuttle panel
The next job is the exhaust i will not be running a silencer just to be different just needs tig welding
and no its no louder than when i ran the full exhaust system on the pinto engine before infact it seems quieter

Looks fantastic I'm really starting to come round to these turbo 7's - always thought the 7 should be kept NA, but I came from the land
of turbo and I might just have to go back there sometime.
What do the 200SX lumps weigh?
149kgs with all ancillaries
update
picture of intercooler to throttle body fabricated pipe but with the idle air control valve outlet welded on
thanks to martin at mk engineering
Looking well.should really get mine back in!
Have you got it in bits what mods are you doing
Yeah.never got chance to strip it originally rushing to get sva before the rules changed.vvt is clattering well now so thought i'd strip and check chain etc while i'm at it,my sx was clocked when i bought it so have no real idea what miles its done, and the last few thousand have been slightly more enthusiastic than when it was my tintop so just want to check there's no signs of damage while its not being used.easy to get carried away on the apex website tho lol

Quick question on the wide panels. Are they stock panels you just cut? I spoke to Danny a few months ago and he said most people just flip the panels
upside down or something like that.
Never did understand what he meant. Is it that the bottom side of the panel goes that far under the car that it can be flipped over?
I bought some half panels from Mk Sportscars and yes they are just turned upside down and then I attached a alloy plate at the bottom as wide as the top to fit have a look in my photo archive
Quite a few trips out in the car since the engine conversion brands hatch, cadwell park, ackworth, mallory park and of course stoneliegh with it running sweet
Great looking car
Very interesting an a surprisingly tidy final instal.
Nicely done indeed.
May I ask the height above the top frame rail, clearance req'd for that engine?
ie for a 'possible' S3 Lotus frame fit (which is 7.5" to highest point of the Nose cone)
Looks a good fit and lots of future potential used to work on japanese stuff and the quality of internals allways top spec!
I will update with new pictures shortly.
Also after 2 years faultless running including a trip to the nurburgring in 2011 I will be adding a full exhaust system to allow me to attend
trackdays
Current noise level 94db on idle and 99db at 3/4 max revs, when blipped 111db
[Edited on 11/4/2012 by DRC INDY 7]
a friend of a friend has a rb20det kit car, 400hpatf and i have never been in anything quite like it.
Is what made me buy mine. Fair play to you! it will be a handful but such good fun!
Have you still got the pinto engine with the bike carb? If you have what state of tune was it and do you wanna flog it and how much?
Sorry the pinto engine was sold over 2 years ago
Pictures of me at blyton track day sunday 11/08/2013
https://www.facebook.com/groups/462610273778799/
Looks brilliant! Shame we weren't on the same day, i would of been asking for a passenger in this . How did it go?
That's another year done, 3 years in total since the conversion.
More track days are planned for 2014
Managed to do another trackday at Blyton in 2014 plus the numerous club meets that we attend.
2015 saw me use the car once and that was to mot it. for the first time since I built the car it let me down on the way home, the fault turned out to
be the 12volt sense wire to the alternator that broke. It was an easy fix.
2016 has only just begun, but I am hoping to attend a few track days at Blyton.
Not sure of any other outings as the group has seen big changes last year, 1 member is sadly no longer with us and another has sold up and bought a
Ford Escort RS.
Jump forward to 2018 and the car has gained new wider rear arches, new rear lights plus wider rear tyres.
I am now running 225-50-15.
