Hi everyone,
I'm sure you've had this post a hundred times before, but i'm new to kit cars and am still in the planning and research stage. I am
seriously concidering the mk indy as my first build. I am a novice at mechanics, with a basic to average understanding of vehicles. with a good
selection of general tools. Am eager to learn, and excited about the build
I would appreciate all and any infomation you can give me on kit car building, mk indys (this will be a fairly budget project, at least for the first
few months) and any info on track days, events and motor sport in the worcestershire, midlands and surrounding would be really appreciated.
thanks in advance, wibble, kidderminster.
Best advice is to get yourself down to MK and have a good look, a chat with the lads and a test drive. There are actually a few 7 type kit car
companies within 20 miles or so of there so might be worth spending a day or two up there.
BEC or CEC??
MNR isn't that far either in Harrogate, well worth a look before laying out big amounts of your hard earned.
Cheers
Rich
I'm fairly flexible in engine choice, but for a first build, my plan was to use the ohc from a sierra donor car. Am i right in thinking this
would then qualify for an age related plate? what issues surround changing to a more modern engine later?
Thanks for reply
I'm running a 1.6 pinto and got an age related plate, makes changing the engine later pretty straight forward later.
Cheers
Rich
A good tip (meant in the nicest possible way) is not to post three seperate threads with exactly the same question in. The front page of the site only
holds so many threads and it bumps other peoples questions off the page.
Its really just a niceity, but it helps the board run smooth and everyone get a crack at having their questions answered, or their rants sympathised
with.
