Fuel Line + cycle wings Q
dh2909 - 3/5/09 at 04:36 PM

I was jst wondering if i will have to clip more of the fuel line to the chassi as it runs up thru the fuel filter and into the engine to pass IVA?. See pics.

I was also wondering as i hav got 205 width tyres will the standard Indy cycle wings be wide enough or will i have to invest in some wider 1's?

Thanks Dave

I have standard indy cycle wings and 205 tyres and they fit fine.

I would say that if the fuel filter moves excessively then you would probably need more support.

It wouldn't hurt to have more support and putting it in now will be a lot easier than when its all built up.

Could you make up a little bracket out of ali strip to give the filter a bit of support independent of the hose?

as above
a small strip of alu bent rount the filter and fixed to the side would support the filter and maybe a P-clip for the rubber hose rather than a cable tie ??

Just a word of consideration.

Think about replacing that fuel filter once the car is built. You will have no access from underneath, nor from the sides, nor from above. The only way in will be past the engine.

Another thing to consider if the motor is fuel injected is will the filter withstand the high pressure from the pump?

Has anyone successfully used one of these filters on the high-pressure side?
