So then, what ya think?
Oh yeah i now have my wet weather gear sorted for friday as well lol!!!

Looks good there mate!
Looks like you've got all the edges covered. Not sure the tester will consider the treatment on the silencer "permanent".
Any photo's under the bonnet?
Mike
Lookimg good.
You might have to extend the seat belt anchorages. They put a spirit level on mine to make sure they were higher than the holes in the seats.
Otherwise the seat has to be structural. Extended bolts aren't ideal in my opinion but will pass SVA.
Have you got an SVA date?

Description
I set the seat belts up so when im sitting in the car they dont touch the holes through the seat. I will have to see what they say at the sva.
SVA is on friday!!!
Cant tell from the pics...Is the face of the rear fog light vertical?
Good luck on Friday
Paul
looks very tidy
My tester checked mine as said and then 2 other testers asked him if he'd checked them later as they walked by, so I'm pretty sure they have
to be higher than the holes. Your height is irrelevent (to them).
Are the radius' on your fuel cap OK?
adrian
Looks very nice indeed. The only i can see is the seat belt points. I think they will need to be higher. They arnt supposed to be mounted so they
pull down on your shoulders in a crash which they look like they will..
Mine are the same as yours and are too low although i dont have the holes in the seats.
My thread here might be of use.
Im not sure they class the heat wrap as a permanent fixture on the silencer.
Looks a very fine car..

2nd that on seat belt points
i had the same cover on the exhaust and passed no problem
looks good but have to agree on everything said so far re the belts and exhaust covering.
what cat is that btw?
that engine install is sweet
I had front indicators that looked like yours, the tester immediately said they were'nt bright enough, but was then helpful enough to say that it was because there was no reflector inside. I cut some reflectors out of a cheap torch and they then were passed as OK.
Is the rear fog light high enough with a full tank of fuel and the springs settled?
Otherwise very tidy looking. btw, where did you hide the battery?
[Edited on 15.11.2008 by Humbug]
Fog light seem pretty vertical and should be the right hight but i will check.
The cat come from Tiger sportscars and the battery is mounted on a plate near the steering rack.
Seatbelts could be a problem. Will have to have a look at what i can do about it.
Front indicators have passed a SVA before.

Got any ideas on how to radius the fuel cap?
You can get round the seatbelt's in the seat holes thing by bringing the belts around the side of the seats and not through the holes in the
seats.
My tester let me do this on the day.
Cheers
Mark
For the seat belt anchor use longer bolts and tubes under the belt end.
For the fuel cap you could cut a rectangle of MDF the same thickness as the cap and with a hole in it just bigger than the cap. Radius the outer edges
and cover with the same as the boot cover. Then screw it down with the screws you've already got in the boot cover so the cap is flush.
Of course both these things might fall off after SVA. ;-)
adrian
your car looks sweet, good luck
Nice one
Good Luck with SVA
Looking great.
Good luck for Friday. I'll have my fingers crossed for good weather for you.
I take it that the instrument cover is, er, designed to fall off shortly after the test!!!!! Re the inboard front wishbone brackets, is it sufficient to cover just the top with edging and leave the curved bit uncovered? Nice pictures that have given me some pointers as I am not that far off SVA myself.
just make sure you take some spare trim super glue and nut covers. If I remember correcly there is a measurement from the seat base to the top of the belt mounting points I remember the tester measuring this.
may be worthwhile taking your c spanner mine failed on the heigh of the front indicators couple or 3 turns on the shocks sorted it out on the day
Looks very well put together Good luck for SVA.
Nice neat build Matt,my seats are very similar to yours but are not mounted as high in the car.I had no problem with my harness mounts as they pass
through the seat an drop down, where yours go up.I love the satin black wings mate!!!
Andy
Mine was OK with the fog light mounted on a bit of bendy ally same place as yours.
AI also did the smae with the exhast and it did'nt get a mention.
Car looks great BTW
Hi matt
Hard to tell from the picture.
Are those rear reflectors raised on the edges ? mine failed on radius edge with contact of the sphere, i ended up moving them inbetween rear cluster
and back panel to avoid the sphere.
If they are raised edges it looks a bit tight to move them so maybe a bit of silicone round them would do the trick.
Looking good Matt! Good luck on friday, I'll keep everything crossed for you!
Take as many tools as you can, just in case!
David
Beautiful job! Good luck with your test!
Really tidy job, looks the business. Two things that iu can't see from the photographs.
1. ther chassis rail that crosses the passenger and driver compartment about where your shins are needs padding incase of a collision.
2. the return edges of the scuttle inside need trimming.
Oh and if you've used tape on the ball joints it'll fail, replace with tie wraps with the sharp bit to the back.
And the tie rod extension needs covering, I used bike inner tube and tie wraps.
Good luck with the test.
Nigel
The tape you can see is self amalgamating tape, not insulating tape, so it should be ok, as it cant be removed without cutting.
David
Sorted the fuel cap and have had a look at the seat belts. Trouble is now i have found a water leak!!

good luck for Friday
11 hours till the SVA!!!!!
Good luck!
Woohoo i failed lol
passed everything apart from a couple of brake unions not fitting right so all went really well.
Got bloody wet and the car covered in muck but all worth it!!
UNLUCKY Matt but sounds like a not so bad fail, get it booked in for MOnday.
Get it sorted and retested within a week and its free too
A good fail that mate! Told you everything would be ok First impressions make all the difference!
David
Well as fails go that sounds like a really good one. How long do you reckon to sort out the union problem and what exactly was the problem?
Nigel
Well done Matt that's a relay good fail nice and easy to fix, shouldn't be long now
Hard luck but thats not a big list .
You've got to be happy they find a brake problem before it finds you and you end up in a ditch or worse.
