Tie Bars - Rose Joints

I'm thinking of using M12 male rose joints to anchor the tie bars on my robin hood (spit spit, gargle) to the chassis

Are these sufficient or should I go bigger? All data for shear strength etc would point to them being ok, thoughts...

PS, am drunk and about to order them online, along with a whole host of other things I havn't got round to buying yet, so any quick reply would be mucho appreciated

i think i read on the old trackstore website (they were good too where did they go?!) thaqt M12 or 1/2" should be the minimum considered for race car suspension, therefore i'd say for road use they'll be fine

that said, all my suspension it 5/8" rose joints...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

tart very much, they have a shear force of 2.5 tonne so I guess they are ok

Hi

If possible always use a UNF threaded joint. With it being a finer thread it means any adjustments can be made to a finer tolerance.

Cheers Matt
