MK Roll bar fixing idea

Not sure if this should be in the MK section? Still:

What do you all thing of attaching a roll bar using "half a crush tube". As I can't weld, and there is no room for a conventiaonal nuts and bolts on the flat plate how about using a tube through the box section as the picture.

The tube effectly makes a long sholder on the bolt, so as to clamp to the inside of the tube and not crush it. The tube will be close fitting and the same thickness as the bolt's sholder. What do you think?

Buy my calcuatoins (based on how westfeild mount theirs) 4 of m8 HT bolts on each roll bar leg will be as strong as the westfeild fixings (2 of M12 HT per leg 3 of M10 HT per leg).

So the bottom hole and tube will be about 14mm in diameter.

Cheers

Dan
