if your building an MK Indy then thats what ours is like i think (could be wrong) its just to suport the rear panel

no i thought that with mine. put the rear on and you get all the strength from the panel once you rivet it on!kev

personally, i'd cut it off on both sides if you haven't already found that out today.
it doesn't support anything, and the back panel aligns itself according to the side panels.

i had to bend mine to enable the rear panel to even sit roughly where it should be. they must be a flawed design, as the new chassis have a flat tab there instead, that the ineer flange of the back panel sits on.
