identify chassis
Guys, Will post some pics,asap...the exhaust side cover has a cut out which says RUSH...but looking on the Dax. forum, I noticed a couple off things
that don,t look right..the top wishbones on the Dax are U shaped, mine are V shaped...most Dax,s have Dedion or independant rear suspension, mine has
an Escort type axle & a single master cylinder with split braking ,front to rear...the pasenger side rear drum has 2 hydraulic pipes to the wheel
cylinder...have never seen this before...other than this it has a 2ltr. pinto & 5sp. gearbox.
Cheers Eddie.

Hi Eddie. Presume your mcyl is tandem type, with front chamber connected to front brakes, and rear chamber to rears, (i.e F/R split). Secondly, I too
have never seen 2 brake pipe connection to one wheel, with such a system. Only on front brakes fitted with twin-pot calipers.
Only reason for connecting rear drums as per your description, would be to provide hydraulic supply across rear axle, to opposite rear drum. Suggest
you check rear brake inter-connection. If there is a single pipe connecting the 2 rears, that would confim.

chassis identification
Dick,
As you said front part off the master splits with two pipes...one to each front wheel...then a single pipe to the back plate off the nearside brake
drum...another single pipe then runs across the rear axle to the offside...can anyone tell me which Ford axel uses this system...i,m assuming because
the engine & box are Ford, so is the rear axel...it,s supposed to be fitted with an LSD.
Cheers Eddie.

That confirms the rear brakes connections. 2-into-1st rear, with transverse connector pipe to 2nd rear. Cannot recall any (Girling) wheel cyl provided
with the necessary 2 ports. Check if the wheel cyls are AP/Lockheed; this could help to ID the rear axle. Also, can you measure the axle width,
drum-to-drum? Thirdly, any ID markings on the diff?

Standard Girling cylinders on the single line Scimitar GTEs are set up that way (and many cars of that era) - the cylinders are identical but one side
has an inlet and a bleed nipple, the other side has in/out.
