Newbie help please
Hi all, I've got a locost in the driver and passenger side it has a diagonal bar the one on the drivers side gets in the way and my shin hits it
can this be removed or is this a major part of the chassis? Any help would be great cheers Chris.

Sorry no pics yet, it runs from the bulkhead to the upright on the side panel. It gets in the way and I find it hard to get onto the brake pedal,
maybe I could move it forward. I will put a picture on tmw. Cheers or your help so far.

Just for your help/knowledge etc, this chassis pic is pretty standard, so will help you refer to stuff by using the tube Initials etc...
Kind regards,
Steve

Obviously I cant comment 100% without seeing your chassis but I would have thought in terms of "Risk" that the extra strength those would
give would be offset by the chance of legs getting busted on a frontal, I'd be thinking about removing them if your chassis is pretty much
standard apart from those.
Just my view but obviously check it out first!

Cheers rich my chassis looks standard apart from those 2 braces out with the grinder tmw. Your right they would brake your legs in a crash. Cheers

Yep. Agree with Richard. Chop them out. Sorry didn't think you would have additional tubes in there

Mine bolts down on the bottom and on the side it's a FIA cage maybe I could move it forward by a few inches

I have that tube in my chassis design. It alone adds a lot to the stiffness of the chassis - but only after significantly stiffening up the rest of it
as compared to a standard chassis. On a standard chassis that tube wont make a large difference to overall stiffness, so you can probably live without
it. It isn't present in most company's designs at all, and I dont see that having a cage makes it in any way neccessary. You must have
damn long legs if it gets in the way, so if it's a problem for you you may as well remove it, imho.

Hi
Those tubes are usually only present on chassis used for competition use. Such as on the Westfield race chassis and our own chassis as standard. They
are also in the Locost championship regulations as recommended. They are there to provide significant improvement for the chassis in the event of a
T-bone situation. The FIA crash testing shows them to be well worth having in such an accident.
Cheers Matt
