wishbone tubes

I know it's been discused many times, but I can get enough info about tube size.

Where I live I can only get 21.3mm seamless tubes (2.4mm wall). This is the closest size to 1".

What do you think?

How much is it? You may be able to get a more suitable size mail order.

Where are you?

It's always best to tell where you are!

How can we help you otherwise?

Got any landrover breakers? I used the steering drag link tube for my lower bones, the stuff you have above will be fine for the top bones.

I re-bushed a catering van chassis the other day.

I've seen thicker drinking straws.

It made my w/b's & bushes look like something off a 4X4.

On the same subject, if you point the shock at the centre of the ball joint rather than 1/3rd of the way along you can reduce the tube size as it no-longer acting as a lever.

Do this and use the tube you have, just have a decent gussett to spread the load at the end.

If you can find a local firm that does hydraulic stuff, they always use seamlesss tube due to the pressures involved. HTH Ray

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

What I can get in 21.3mm is called schedule 40. Does this stuff is strong enough?

Or it could be 26.7mm o.d. but I think it's overkill.

Thank you very much.
