P - clipping brake + fuel pipes for SVA

Does anyone know the min distance brake pipes have to be clipped to the chassis - same with fuel lines - is there a min? 'cos I can't find it in the manual.

Yup, 30cm is the farthest apart the clips can be, but ISTR they're iffy about stuff hitting.

I went for about 8" on my brake lines down the tunnel, with a blob of PU every 4", just to be safe.

The SVA manual only stipulates that the wiring loom is needed to be secured every 30cm.

I couldn't find any mention in the manual of brake lines or fuel lines. Obviously common sense dictated so I pclipped them every 30 cm too.

PU = polyurethane adhesive, usually sikaflex or wurth bond and seal.

ISTR = I seem to recall (internet speak!).

If you use P clips, there is a good possibility that the pipes will touch the chassis along the route. Use the proper manufacturer clips, its what they are designed for and cheap and look soooo professional

Many thanks for all your replies - and jargon - busting, too!

Mark - what do the 'proper manufacturer's clips' look like, and who stocks them?

Thanks for the links, guys! those clips are like they use on real cars, aren't they?

Anyway, I hang my head in shame because I had already bought my P clips, and I have today spent a couple of happy hours fixing the brake pipes every 5 inches - maybe over the top, but I wanted "to be sure to be sure" as the irishman wearing two condoms said! (SORRY!)

Want to see some piccys?
