Hi guys,
What do you think. Will this be strong enough?? Items are not yet finally welded.
STEERING RACK MOUNTS:

AND HANDBRAKE CABLE BRACKETS:

Its hard to say whats what with such large photos..
But I would have to say no on both counts...
Most of the steering rack loads will come from the sides....and those brackets look too thin and have no rigidity from lateral forces..
Likewise the handbrake cable mounts....The materals looks a bit thin....can you "box" it to give it strength?
The rack mounts are made out of 3mm steel. I am considering a brace between the both mounts. Alternatives:
1. angle iron, welded level between both mounts
2. strip, welded diagonally between both mounts
H/B cable: is it an option to weld 3mm triangular plates between the axle and the brackets?
a second for boxing them in like this-
good weld quality though

Is this to strenghten the mounts in the length of the car?
Do you think it also needs a brace to strengten it from left to right? I have seen examples, I think Westfiels does this.
Hicost, do you mean like this:

Nick205: Yes, I understand.
Still I don't exactly understand what hicost means with 'bending tubes' and 'welding to chassis uprights' ?

i also think it needs some cross bracing to prevent lateral movement.
I did it like this
and the theme continues

Before you get carried away and weld it fully stop!
Even 1/4" out and it can effect bump steer, have good search on this, build up all the front suspension, take out the springs and locate the rack
in the best position before you fully weld and brackets/supports in place.
